The Kents are a young band from Lindsay, Ontario that have had their catchy, alternative rock hooks compared to Arkells, Hollerado, The Killers and Kings of Leon.
Formed in 2014, The Kents is comprised of Warren Frank (vocals), Freddy Kwon (guitar), Luke Shauf (bass) and Tanner Paré (drums).
Waking EP, produced by Derek Hoffman (The Elwins, DCF) at Fox Sounds in Toronto with mastering from Dan Weston (Shad, City And Colour), encapsulates lyrical explorations of family, loss and separation from the comfort of adolescence with a hook-hungry, pop filter that controls the chaos.
Their debut single, The Stakes, was featured on the iTunes’ New Artist Spotlight, Spotify’s Best of 2016 Viral Hits, Hockey Night in Canada, Canada’s Walk Of Fame Emerging Artist finalist and earned radio support from CBC including George Stroumboulopoulos and various other regional, national stations.
They’ve shared the stage for sold-out shows with The Trews, The Strumbellas, The Elwins and Hollerado.
“The Kents are packing a serious punch… What’s happening in Lindsay? Is it the new Seattle or something?”
