JULY 16 Basement Revolver’s EP Release

It didn’t take long for Hamilton, Ontario’s Basement Revolver to take our hearts by storm and keep us addicted to their introspective and emotional indie rock music, reminiscent of The Pixies and the Yeah Yeah Yeahs.

In less than two months, they reached over 29k plays (and counting) of their single, Johnny, a frank letter of lament coated with sweet vocal tones of frontwoman Chrisy Hurn.  Their rapid and well-deserved success comes by no surprise to us. Raw and honest lyricism is interposed with heavy lines of bass/synth by Nimal Agalawatte and drummer Brandon Munro’s infectious rhythms throughout their songs.  Hurn plays with wonderful paradoxes: haunting realities of life in the city and the beautiful attachments she has to the place she calls home and the person she loves.  And it’s not just the recordings that leave you in a trance-like state.  This dreamy trio consistently packs a punch.

Basement Revolver has shared the stage with We Are The City, HIGHS, Dave Monks and Evening Hymns, among others.  The Casbah is thrilled to announce that on July 16, 2016 Basement Revolver will be celebrating their debut EP release in our Main Hall.
